An exhibition of work by recent and present students of The Essential School Of Painting (The ESOP).
About
Through the work of 20 artists/students, the exhibition considers the wide range of concerns being explored by an eclectic mix of painters, sculptors and multi-media artists, enjoying experimenting and searching, bound together by their desire to make art that can move us. We are at a unique point in time when artists have access to a vast range of imagery and influences from different eras and cultures. This broadening of our references can bring a release from the limitations of fashion and fleeting orthodoxies. In this show painting predominates and exemplifies the dynamism and diversity of approaches found in contemporary painting, benefitting from an unprecedented choice of modern and traditional materials.
The ESOP is an independent, alternative art school based in Wood Green, London, specialising in painting and multi-media taught by leading contemporary artists.
The exhibition is curated by Sally Gorham who is an artist and freelance curator.
