‘As a woman, you’re either not in the story, or if you are, it’s badly written’. 
ALL ABOUT EVE is a feminist retelling of the Biblical story of Eve the first woman on earth. Retracing a long unaddressed heritage of female guilt, and playfully revisiting mythological and religious iconography, Eve’s story is here re-written by the character herself, through different media, from tabloids to ex-votos and sigils. Guilt as a weight to bear is made literal through sculptures of custom-made gym weights as well as the performance EVE SYNDROME.
For EVE SYNDROME "the first woman ever to walk the earth" gives a spectacularly decomposed TEDx conference. She deconstructs the Bible and her own representations, projects paintings, statistics and embraces a network of references that are always based on the actions of men. Taking the floor and becoming the historian of her life, Eve attempts to banish female guilt and set the record straight.

Sofia Kouloukouri is an artist and performer living in Geneva and Athens. Through endurance and narration, her work deals with weights as a feminine heritage going back to the fundamental education of girls, myth, and the Christian doctrine. By way of her objects and performances the artist inserts herself in ‘grand narratives’, and appropriates them, claiming a new space and order for her female characters. Kouloukouri has presented work at the: Theatre du Grütli, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Buenos Aires, Stoa 42, Espace 3353, Palais de Rumine, Manoir de Martigny, Platforms ArtAthina, Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts Lausanne, Kunsthal Charlottenborg Copenhagen, Triennale du Valais, gallery A. Antonopoulou, Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
