Agnieszka Polska makes video works often employing found and manipulated material and images. Her earlier works were largely driven by questions around art history, the documentation procedure, and explored the archival subconscious via misunderstandings, misrepresentations, absences and disappearances. Her recent video works sees her focus shift more towards the mechanisms of visual perception and its interplay with language, touching upon urgencies such as environmental catastrophe, the rise of nationalistic sentiments, and also on the individual and their social responsibility.
