Phosphoros Young Company is a drama group for young people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds. Having moved from the Unicorn Theatre in London to working online in March, the group is now made up of people from all over the UK.
After the Storm is an original short film created by the group, following the journey of two characters- Andreas and Bger who are separated after a storm. They must find their way back to each other across mountains, lakes and forests- forming new friendships along the way.
Using a mixture of puppetry, movement and illustration, Phosphoros Young Company lead us on a journey of imagination and discovery.
Invite only online live viewing of film, with introduction from members of the group.
We moved our young company very swiftly online when lockdown hit in March. After working with groups across the country during Refugee Week in June, we discovered the potential of bringing together young people from beyond London. After the Storm is a collaborative project allowing young refugees and asylum-seekers to create a story and characters together, despite being many miles apart.
