... a thousand ships is an exhibition of large scale portrait drawings and paintings on canvas by artists who attend Project Ability's Connect programme. Over a period of several months, thirty artists have worked on this project, creating portraits of themselves, their fellow artists, people known and people unknown. Sixteen of these artists will see their work exhibited in the Newbery gallery in Glasgow School of Art.
