Three artists explore the exciting possibilities of paint and the enduring importance of the landscape tradition.

About

Featuring over thirty canvases ranging in size and featuring several large scale works, this exhibition brings together the work of three leading local artists – John Elcock, Josie Jenkins and Paul Mellor. Each of the artists has a distinct and individual style but they share a common interest in exploring the exciting possibilities of paint and the enduring importance of the landscape tradition. The paintings on display examine the sublime, memory, recollection and ambiguity, and include references to art history, cinema, urban decay and isolated landscapes as the artists seek to understand the strange reality of the world around us.
