The launch of a publication edited by Freya Field-Donovan and Emmie McLuskey that includes newly commissioned texts.
Join us to celebrate the launch of a new publication titled A Strange American Funeral edited by Freya Field-Donovan and Emmie McLuskey and designed by Maeve Redmond. The book includes newly commissioned texts by Freya Field-Donovan, Millicent A A Graham and Kadish Morris as well as historical material from Katherine Dunham and Maya Deren.
This event is part of these things were what made the step familiar, an exhibition by Satellites Programme participant Emmie McLuskey. Satellites Programme is Collective’s development programme for emergent artists and producers based in Scotland.
Emmie McLuskey is an artist based in Glasgow. She works with other artists to produce collaborative work; this has previously taken the form of publications, events, objects, conversations and exhibitions.
Freya Field-Donovan is a PhD candidate in the History of Art Department at University College London, working on dance and technological reproduction in 1930s America.
