An art exhibition that is focusing on memory loss and dementia
About
The theme of the exhibition is a series of paintings that are focusing on memory loss and dementia.
I am attempting to visually describe memories and life experiences by using different types of shoes, in different environments . I use shoes as symbolism of travel, exploration , experience and memory . While memory is fading , shoes are the inanimate objects that help in exploring and discovering. They are carrying the wear and tear of time and thus serving as a summary of life.
%30 of the proceedings will be donated to Alzheimer research UK.
I am using water mixable oil paint and acrylic as a base whilst I also use some gold leaf . All paintings are painted on canvas .
