Artist in residence Sam Wagner will be hosting an open conversation about our fears and phobias related to COVID-19, aiming to provide a safe digital space to connect with others who have been psychologically affected by the pandemic. Sam will discuss his personal struggles with germaphobia and OCD and showcase artwork influenced by these complicated feelings. Sam Wagner is part of the ever-changing programme of artists in residence at Bankside Hotel’s maker's studio. Bankside provides a permanent creative space and working with curators Contemporary Collective who champion up-and-coming creatives, covering a wide range of disciplines including design, painting, sculpture, film, drawing, printmaking, installation, new media and photography. Bankside and ArtYard Bar & Kitchen guests are able to watch artists practice their creative expertise and so be taken on an informative and artistic journey.
