AboutJames Oconnell is a Manchester based doodler, illustrator, typographer and all round image maker with an international reach. On the 28th September James will be putting on his first solo exhibition revealing a selection of work created over the last quinquennium. He draws inspiration from all over the place from everyday comings and goings to pure fantasy. And everything else in between. From people, from places, from objects, from films, from books, from music, from comedy, from listening, from looking, from seeing from experiencing.
He has a passion for tone, form and texture and tries to generally create stuff that tries to make people think. But mostly, that makes them smile. Throughout his career james has been lucky enough to work with some amazing folk and has had his work show up in places like Creative Review, Design Week, BBC News and the OFFF Festival.
