Naked is the third and final part of the 2010 series and brings together six sculptors who explore concepts of exposure, vulnerability together with rawness of materials to provoke a sensory response.
This is the first of two evening talks where three of the six exhibiting sculptors' will present their work and practice. It is an informal opportunity to see the exhibition, hear them talk and share a glass of wine.
Luke Hart's work explores synthetic human skin, flesh and bone, and prosthetic objects as a means of examining preconceptions about evolution and the natural world. Stephen Duncan's uses casts from the surfaces of large acanthus leaves to suggest an intermediary of âskin' on his figurative sculptures. Victoria Ferrand-Scott's sculptures are abstract, organic and visceral, harnessing natural forces of gravity to capture the history and the potential of form.
