The Magistrates Association turned 100 years old last year. To celebrate a century of being the collective voice of the magistracy and the tireless pursuit of justice, they have created “2020 Vision: 100 Years of Justice.”
About
The exhibition is built on 10 themes - topical issues around which both legislation and societal attitudes have evolved dramatically over the past century and will continue to evolve moving forward. These include LGBT+ rights, race and criminal justice, ownership of information and others.
20 contemporary artists from across England and Wales (including Koestler Arts alumni) have been commissioned to respond to these themes. The resulting exhibition of 20 original artworks is both a retrospective of legislative milestones from the past 100 years and a hopeful gaze into what the next century could bring.
