Istituto Svizzero presents '10 seconds', the latest video work by Hayahisa Tomiyasu (Fellow Roma Calling 2020/2021).

The event is curated by Hayahisa Tomiyasu (Fellow Roma Calling 2020/2021), who presents new works from his residency in Rome, now available on our website.
'10 seconds' is a new video that combines two works produced in two different locations: Zurich and Rome. A double screen shows photos of numbers taken by Hayahisa Tomiyasu in public spaces of the two cities. The numbers go from 10 to 1 as to remind a countdown.
The video is accompanied by the transcription of a conversation between Hayahisa Tomiyasu and art historian Dr. Gabrielle Schaad, providing an overview of his current work and practice.
