Screening Opportunity
Submit your dance film for POOL 23 Festival in Berlin, Germany
Updated: 08 March 2023
POOL 23 is a movement art film festival that presents a selection of fascinating international dance film productions, creating a meeting place for creative minds involved in the fields of dance, film, fashion, and art. We are inviting submissions that not only record dance, but create independent film choreographies through the intense interplay between dance and cinematic tools like the use of camera and editing.
Eligibility: Artists from all countries are invited to apply with dance films and dance animations that are not longer than 30 minutes and not merely a documentation of a dance piece. Longer films may be considered for a special screening.
What you get: The curatorial team of POOL 23 will create a film program out of all the submissions that will be presented and shared with the Berlin audience over three evenings. The selected films – our PEARLS – will be presented side by side and reflect the diversity of the genre. Selected artists will be awarded the Pearls Artist Prize, honouring their continuous and unique work in the field of dance film. The available fee (6000 €) will be divided between the awarded artists.
