Call for Artists - Local Engagement Programme - England's Creative Coast
Updated: 05 December 2019
England’s Creative Coast is a large-scale arts and tourism programme across Essex, Kent and East Sussex led by Turner Contemporary, working with some of the major arts organisations in the region. Metal are the lead arts partner in Essex.
The Local Engagement Programme in Essex will connect local people with the project, the new art commission in Southend and offer a way for them to share their stories and experiences on what makes Essex distinct in terms of its coastal location, all to engage visitors and inspire a sense of place.
We are looking for an artist for whom text and words are a central element of their practice to work with and activate six new geocaches located along the Essex coast, connecting the stories of local Essex people with visitors.
