The Artist in Residence Program at Bernheim is awarded annually to artists selected to create works inspired by and potentially installed in the natural world. This program enhances the visitor experience through interaction with art while fulfilling Bernheim’s mission of connecting people to nature. This program is available to visual artists in any medium including installation and architecture. Bernheim provides living quarters, a $2500 honorarium and studio space in exchange for a site-specific sculpture, project or work of art left to the Bernheim Foundation. Also required is some form of public engagement such as a lecture, workshop or demonstration.
