About
TWO SPOKE is ann exhibition bringing together the work of Holly Mills, Aisha Farr nd Tom Clark.Through a range of mediums, these artists explore what happens when something ‘hard to describe’ is replaced by a-thing. The work plays with the way particular elements or forms echo or resound associations with each other, and how repetition can be used to both clarify and unmoor meaning.
Tom Clark (b.1988, London, UK) has a multidisciplinary practice bridging moving image, performance and poetry. His video work explores the emotional and perceptual relationships between image, sound and language; and is concerned with investigating the politics of subjectivity and meaning making.
Aisha Farr (b. 1989, London, UK) is an artist/writer who works in adult education and community outreach. Some of her poetry has appeared in Zarf, Project Self Detective, Prototype 2 and with the art project plumbing wine. Aisha is currently working on a collaborative film titled Terrormar.
London based artist Holly Mills (b. 1990, London, UK) creates tactile mixed-media paintings and drawings that viscerally explore memory and text. Repeated motifs form part of an alt-language that evokes both the physical and emotional experience of place. Exploration of materials is an important part of the process for Mills - keeping an element of vulnerable uncertainty in the act of making.
