The Future of Heritage is a new exhibition exploring how the Cultural Protection Fund is creating opportunities for sustainable development across the Middle East and North Africa.
About
The Future of Heritage is a new exhibition in the British Council's London headquarters exploring how through supporting 51 projects in the Middle East and North Africa, the Cultural Protection Fund is creating opportunities for sustainable development whilst protecting, recording, conserving and restoring heritage at risk of being lost forever.
The exhibition displays a unique range of objects on loan from the projects, including a hand-woven carpet made by artisans in Afghanistan, craft pieces inspired by Egyptian Mamluk minbars, stonework carved by Syrian refugee trainee stonemasons and handmade models of traditional Iraqi watercraft.
