An evening of Reading/Sound Performance from Nougat

About

Lorrie Jayne Evans/Catherine Jones/Rebecca Jagoe/Meera Chauhan/Lauren Lapidge A night addressing the use of art writing in each artist's individual practices, and the collective issues faced when attempting to find a mode of presentation. The artists will use performance as an alternate, more ephemeral means of presenting the written word: a transient event that will form part of a wider ongoing investigation into different modes of displaying these texts. As a counterpoint to this, sound is introduced that explores the space between language and meaning, an attempt at communication that dismantles the authority of the written word. It will be an evening about the state of language, and the pre-language state. And Elephant's Breath. 07.10.11 7-9pm
