A day-long symposium focusing on how drawing sensitizes us to the world around us, including a series of talks and activities across the National Maritime Museum and Queen’s House, as part of Royal Museums' Greenwich's Season of Drawing.

About

'Circumnavigation' will combine discussions from artists, community participants and experts alongside workshops, active drawing sessions, and drawing performances, to explore how drawing belongs to all of us.

It will highlight the importance of drawing as a tool to navigate the challenges we personally and collectively face.

The symposium will take inspiration from Royal Museums Greenwich's collections and the upcoming exhibition The Van de Veldes: Greenwich Art and the Sea.

'Circumnavigation' has been developed and produced by Drawing Correspondence, a collective of artists, educators and theorists who have drawing at the heart of their practice. The collective consists of Anita Taylor, Tania Kovats and Chloe Briggs.

The event will be part of Drawn Together at Royal Museums Greenwich, a season of events dedicated to drawing from March to June 2023. The season will explore and celebrate drawing through activities, trails, talks and events for all ages groups and abilities.
