Butterfly: Works by Catrin Morgan and Rachel Pedder-Smith

About

The exhibition highlights the obsessive and destructive mindset of the collector. Both artists display a clear sophistication and elegance in their work; these are beautiful objects that just simply need to be stared at. They illustrate things to us in such a way that makes a distinct virtue of the objects they reference, many of which, in the case of Rachel Pedder-Smith's work, can be found in the grounds of Fulham Palace. Butterflies and other insects are given representation through watercolour painting that celebrates their beauty and design; while in Catrin Morgan's work independently illuminating books are deconstructed, so new relations and meanings can be invented between them through the occurrence of a single word: ‘butterfly'. Opening Times: Saturday 11am-2pm Sunday 11.30am-3.30 pm Monday 12-4pm Tuesday 12-4pm www.catrinmorgan.co.uk http://rtps.homestead.com
