Last May The Other Art Fair once again saw huge success with London art lovers, proving that the demand for cutting edge work bought directly from the artist is stronger than ever.
Over three and a half days the fair received nearly 7,000 visitors with over 1,500 attending the opening night reception. Sales were made to a diverse range of visitors from gallerists and seasoned collectors to first time buyers and almost a quarter of the participating artists were approached to work with galleries. Ryan Stanier, Director of The Other Art Fair comments: "I am delighted with the results of the second fair, which attracted almost double the number of visitors and saw not only rapid sales, but also fantastic interaction between artists and buyers."
The fair is unique in allowing over 100 emerging artists to sell their work directly to the public and has already gained a reputation as one of the best locations for collectors to find undiscovered talent who are yet to gain gallery representation. By encouraging this direct interaction, The Other Art Fair hopes to forge lasting relationships between artists and experienced collectors or first-time buyers.
The fair also provides artists with an unrivalled opportunity for artists to gain exposure to galleries and in turn for galleries to make new discoveries. The inclusive atmosphere which the fair provides is an open platform for communication between artists, buyers and art-lovers and is enhanced by a series of both informative activities and entertainment.
Fine Art Performance Programme: Recent projects such as The Tanks at Tate Modern have put the spotlight on performance art, and at The Other Art Fair, FAD will host their own eclectic programme of live art. This will include the Spanish ensemble 'Walking Gallery', who exhibit work strapped to their bodies, operating under the motto of 'no more walls.'
Limited Edition Prints: Buyers with an interest (and budget) more suited to prints and posters will find plenty available at The Other Art Fair with many artists, including Dan Hillier - winner of the Club Monaco Award 2011 - and Nina Fowler, producing limited edition prints. The Other Art Fair partner, Culture Label, will also offer visitors the opportunity to purchase a range of popular limited edition prints by celebrated artists and designers.
Talks and Workshops: Partners of the Other Art Fair Jotta will be co-hosting a series of lectures and master classes by key individuals from the art world, to inform, challenge and entertain fair visitors.
The Others Unplugged: Throughout the duration of the fair the bar will play host to some of the best new acoustic live acts on the London music scene.
The Other Bar and Cafe The Breakfast Club will be running a pop up bar and restaurant serving everything from delicious salads and fresh coffee to their infamous cocktails. The perfect place to unwind, away from the bustle of the main fair.
The Other Photography: The growing popularity of photography has meant that for the first time, The Other Art Fair will be showing the best of unrepresented photographers in their own dedicated area.
The Office Group will be presenting two participating artists at the fair with a prize for 'Best Curated Stand'. The Office Group is known for providing flexible offices, meeting and clubrooms for entrepreneurs and small businesses. With style, sustainability and flexibility in mind they will tailor every space to the individual's needs and aesthetic. The winning artists at The Other Art Fair will be given an exhibition at the Office Group's 'Club Lounge' as well as a year's free membership.
