Glitter - an open exhibition

About

Who killed the Christmas goose? All that glitters is good and in the 2008 season of good will and merriment, glitter and goodness will come into its own once again in Margate. The sight of glitter reminds one directly and unfailingly of the best things in our life and culture. Glitter is good and, in particular, glitter is good at Christmas. Good objects -Birthday Cards, fireworks, Christmas baubles, Christmas trees and toys - glitter. Tanks, bombs and tax forms do not glitter. So it is with nature: Diamonds, dew, the stars and little ships at sea glitter. Smoke from factories, dog's excreta, dark shadows and holes in the road do not. Limbo Arts would like you to join us in a major celebration of glitter and the good that glitter can bring to our lives: Namely, lots of very cheap art. The Glitter exhibition will offer visitors the chance to purchase themselves a bona fide work of art to take home that day - for the bargain price of £10! All of the works on sale will relate to the Glitter theme. Any works that are unsold before Christmas will be reduced to £5 in our January sale. However, we have given the artists the chance to reclaim their work on the day of the sale before it decreases in value. Arrive early to beat them to it! In addition to the exhibition Limbo will be a offering a glitter workshop at which everyday and mundane things will be turned into fun and goodness filled celebrity glitter-objects for the people of Margate and East Kent.
