On Tap - a contemporary art exhibition by MAKING ART WORK

MAKING ART WORK presents their latest exhibition from 6-9 June 2014 at the Brewery Tap in the heart of Folkstone’s Creative Quarter. The show mixes the historical with the contemporary featuring new work from the diverse members of Maidstone’s first artists’ co-operative.

Once a pub but now a gallery, the artists offer a wide body of artwork created specifically for this location. Representing their personal response to the space as a pub, ‘On Tap’ incorporates performance, video installation, photography, sculpture and collage to combine everyday memories and imagined traces of the space with historical anecdotes and reflections on shifting social and cultural trends.

For this exhibition MAKING ART WORK are partnering with the University for the Creative Arts who currently use the Brewery Tap as a project and exhibition space for their MA Fine Art and Curatorial students.

Opening times:
Friday 6 June – Monday 9 June 2014, 11am – 4pm daily
Private View: Friday 6 June, 5.30pm – 8pm
Entry to the exhibition is free
