About

The second showcase organized by London based and current Debut Contemporary artist John Clair; featuring some of the finest artistic talents to have exhibited in the creative hotbed of Walthamstow, East London In addition to curating the exhibition John Clair will be exhibiting his unique style of highly detailed graphic portraiture work, often presenting iconic celebrity figures such as KT Tunstall, Heath Ledger and Johnny Depp as subjects. John has previously exhibited across London with Debut Contemporary, The Brick Lane Gallery, and regularly at Richmix, Bethnal Green, as part of the Monthly 'Showcase Cities John will be joined by a team of artists that include the following; Birmingham based Laura Tinald, whose beautiful signature brush strokes and minimal use of line to invoke the beauty of the female form has earned her commissions with various publications and advertising campaigns. Most recently with West Bank London, A Beautiful World, Lawrence King Publishing and Make Believe UK. She has regularly exhibited her work in London and has also exhibited overseas in Ibiza in 2011. London based Carne Griffiths, a Debut Contemporary alumni who trained as a traditional embroidery designer and whose work now focuses on nature and floral pattern. Carne is best known for his use of unusual liquids such as Ink, Tea & Alcohol within his work which has been exhibited internationally in Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, and New Orleans, as well as appearing regularly at London Art Fair and the Royal Academy. Published work includes a collaboration with photographer Rankin. Mathew Vieira, another Debut Contemporary artist whose modernist painted portraits can also be viewed at the MUSE Gallery as part of his residency there. He has recently started covering celebrity in his work. Depicting subjects like Emile Sande, Tiny Tempah and Professor Green using bold brush work and abstract use of colour Mathew's involvement comes as a direct consequence of Samir Ceric's, CEO of Debut Contemporary, introduction of the two artists as a way of encouraging the Debut stable of artists to actively work together in both practical and artistic endeavours. As well as the above, there are many incredibly talented artists featuring in MOVEMENT:Walthamstow. Including the brilliance of; Hmmmbates' Bold, Pop Portraiture James Ward's Graphic Gothica Divya Venkatesh's Colourful Artistic Design Bronte Adam's Absurdist Chimeras PixelsPencil's Stylistic, Graphic Portraiture Shahima Chikhalia's Meticulously Intricate Mehdi
