Alex Proud and The Strand Gallery present the first UK exhibition from performance and installation artist Millie Brown.

About

The majority of Brown's work involves drinking coloured milk and regurgitating the liquid over large canvases while recording the process. Her work is celebrated by global phenomenon Lady Gaga, who personally selected Brown to appear in one of her music videos. Brown uses anticipation, intrigue and fear to create a viewing experience which is compulsorily voyeuristic. This exhibition will feature a large canvas alongside video installations of Brown's performances. A founding member of London's !WOWOW! collective, which has produced such luminary talents as fashion designer Gareth Pugh, jewellery designer Dominic Jones, photographer Matthew Stone, artists Adham Faramawy, and Boo Saville. Millie Brown is part the new youth talent pool that makes London one of the cultural hot beds of the world. Millie has performed and exhibited at galleries internationally including: Chapman Fine Arts, The Union Gallery, SHOWstudio, The Birmingham Art Festival, Gallery La General Paris, Transmedial Art Festival Berlin, General Public Gallery Berlin, B22 Hamburg, Illoulian Contemporary Los Angeles.
