‘The Laying on of Hands' is a group exhibition of seven artists linked by their interest in the photographic image. Each body of work begins with the image as a starting point, which is subsequently altered or modified by an individual process unique to the artist. These transformative actions on the surface of the photograph mark it permanently, leading to an exploration of the veracity of the portrait, landscape or documentary image and its authoritative claims.
