About
S.P.A.M. OFFICE welcomes Sam Jacob, founding director of FAT, architect, writer and critic, for an in-house training session with Pieterjan Ginckels. Sign up to learn about breaking the boredom in a modernist office setting. Systems of monotony will be analysed in the workplace with a focus on the structure of the office itself, including it's architectural design and furniture. Discussions on the influence of the office aesthetic will take place around the meeting table in the centre of the gallery.FAT (Fashion Architecture Taste) is an architecture studio with an international reputation for delivering outstanding projects on a range of scales. Specialising in architecture, cities and design, recent projects include a library in SE London and a cultural centre in Rotterdam. Clients include Igloo Regeneration, BioRegional/Quintain, Tate, Grosvenor, and Selfridges.
Sam Jacob gives regular lectures and is currently Professor of Architecture at University of Illinois, and Director of Night School at AA He writes Strangeharvest.com, is architecture editor of Contemporary, a columnist for the Architects Journal, and contributes to Icon, Art Review, Frieze and Metropolis.
IN-OFFICE DESIGN SESSION will be the first event to accompany the exhibition S.P.A.M. OFFICE at ANDOR.
