About

The main focus of our Autumn Exhibition is the work of John Newland. Painting with great sensitivity he captures the quiet grandeur of the North Norfolk coastal beaches, marshes, villages and harbours. His work is always much admired and keenly sought after. We also feature the work of two other much loved painters; large, striking watercolours by Sophie Knight RWS, and textural, atmospheric landscapes in gouache and acrylic by Tony Foster. New to us in the 2012 Summer Exhibition, Leigh Davis made a great first impression with his masterly abstracted paintings. Most of his first delivery sold straight away and we needed to be replenished! We are featuring an exciting new group of paintings in this exhibition. The monotypes and small edition carborundum and drypoint prints of Ross Loveday express his fascination with the powerful forces of nature in incisive lines and sweeping use of light and dark. The Autumn exhibition also offers three dimensional delights in the monumental ceramics of Sarah Purvey, informed by the rhythmic energy of landscape, and stone sculpture of Robert Fogell whose work is concerned with geometry and balance in the natural world. Alongside all this you can also see a great selection of works from our regular artists and craftsmen, including a new collection of ceramics by Barry Stedman.
