Opening of Roaming, a new exhibition by the Roam Collective

About

Aid & Abet presents ‘Roaming'; the first major project and inaugural exhibition by artist group Roam Collective: Will Clifford, Sarah Evans, Bettina Furnée, Catherine Hemelryk, Hayley Lock, Rachel Oxley and Caroline Wright. The exhibition unites and considers seven newly commissioned artworks, funded by Arts Council England and created throughout 2012 in locations across East Anglia. Roaming is devised as a series of chapters authored by each artist, thematically bound by shared notions of encounters, tales and secrets. From March to September, artists developed their chapters in the public domain, transferring their studio practice to outside locations in Aldeburgh, Walberwick, Beeston Regis, Rendlesham, Titchwell Salt Marsh and Shingle Street Beach. Roam Collective represents a cross section of artistic talent with associations to the Eastern region. The project is marked by the ambition of the artwork created, that sees each artist journeying into new territories within their art practice. This is a great opportunity to come and see new work by some of the most exciting artists practicing in the East of England.
