About

A film by Christine Kinsey followed by Q&A with Gilly Adams, 6.30pm Please join us for the opportunity to see Chapter co-founder, Christine Kinsey's film Taith / A Journey. The film is based on the female characters who inhabit her paintings and drawings and follows the narrative line of a journey that began in her childhood. Her images incorporate symbols and motifs which reinterpret the traditional representations of women to reveal the character's continuing search to become the subject and not the object of the image; together with imagery that explores the interface between the material and the spiritual through the imagination. Her film Taith follows the journey of the Seated Character, the Walking Character and the Standing Character who move through an imagined world of time and space. The Characters are accompanied on the journey by songs and poetry in Welsh and English. Christine Kinsey was Co-founder and Artistic Director of Chapter Art Centre between 1968 and 1976. Taith / A Journey is part of her exhibition Truths, Lies and Alibis. Tickets for this event are free of charge but should be booked in advance by calling our box office on 029 2030 4400.
