About
History Lecture SeriesDr Stephanie Jones, University of Southampton
A specialist in the interdisciplinary field of law and literature, Stephanie Jones is interested in literary and legal narratives of the Indian Ocean over the past 400 years.
In her lecture she plans to explore links between the current situation off the Somali coast and earlier stories about Indian
Ocean piracy, looking at texts and situations from the 17th Century to the present, with a focus on how literary and legal texts have represented piracy.
