About

Alexandra Bircken's new commission will be the artist's first ever solo presentation in a public gallery in the United Kingdom. Now based in Cologne, Bircken originally studied fashion at St Martins College, London which has provided a formal underpinning to the artist's sculptures and installations. Techniques such as knitting, knotting, weaving and crochet are utilised to create a particular formal approach to making and construction.
