Sponsored by Smith & Williamson and The Sunday Times, this prestigious competition aims to encourage the use of watercolour and water-based media paintings among both amateur and professional artists. Now in its 24th year, it is one of the only remaining prizes to celebrate the diversity and beauty of the undervalued medium of watercolour. This year sees the introduction of Vintage Classics Prize for Cover Art, generously sponsored by Random House.
