Steady Wings workshop with Leonard Retel Helmrich

Presented by Open City London Documentary Festival (http://www.opencitylondon.com/), Leonard Retel Helmrich will run a one day practical hands-on workshop in a small focused group. The workshop includes screenings of three of his latest works. Leonard Retel Helmrich's trilogy of Indonesian documentaries have won awards worldwide. His most famous, Shape Of The Moon, has won ‘Best Documentary' at both Sundance and IDFA. He has developed both a theoretical perspective and a practical technique for the approach he calls 'single shot cinema', which involves long takes with a constantly moving camera.
