LOOP, an artist-led initiative,will showcase recent work by a group of contemporary artists who explore the exciting and varied visual language of print within their art. The exhibition which will be opened by Gill Saunders, Senior Curator of Prints at the Victoria & Albert Museum,
The artists involved with LOOP all demonstrate a passion and a devotion to the fine art print medium, from traditional printmaking methods to the latest digital developments. In this exhibition a diverse range of techniques will be on display, from the simple yet elegant woodcut print to incorporating print as an element within a mixed-media sculptural work. It is the variation of the mark, the nuance of tonality, and the explorations of the photographic or drawn image that makes the print medium so exciting. This important shared aesthetic runs as a thread throughout the exhibition and links the work of this varied group of artists.
