tank.tv is very excited to present the newest piece from acclaimed video artist David Blandy. Child of the Atom fuses fiction with reality in an intimate and powerful portrayal of his visit to the site of the Hiroshima tragedy, with his young daughter. Blandy traces the familial myth that without the bombing of Hiroshima, his grandfather would not have survived his imprisonment as a Japanese POW. Exploring his underlying guilt at his and his daughters own existence at the loss of 110,000 others, Blandy shows Hiroshima as it is today, interspersed with scenes of apocalyptic anime.
