A Cup of Tea? Carmen Mangion

About

Maggi Hambling's self-portrait includes seventeen ‘ill-assorted objects', and a teapot is one of the most prominent. Carmen Mangion, Honorary Research Fellow at Birkbeck, University of London, explores how drinking tea took centre stage in British culture, and why the teapot is such a valuable possession for so many of us. This talk is part of a wide range of exciting events we have planned at the museum to coincide with the Objects in Mind exhibition which runs from 24 November 2010 - 27 February 2011.
