The Bothy Ballad Bus: A Project with Shona Donaldson

This month sees the culmination of singer Shona Donaldson's residency Bogie's Bonnie Belle researching the Bothy Ballads in the North East of Scotland. In collaboration with the Doric Festival we have arranged a musical journey with singer in residence Shona Donaldson in a joint venture between the Doric Festival and Deveron Arts on a the Ballad Bus, visiting the sites and singing of many of the songs and ballads for which the North East of Scotland and Huntly and the surrounding areas in particular are famous throughout the world. The bus will tour from Huntly to the Cabrach / Rhynie/ Kennethmont and Forgue areas, stopping for lunch at Kellockbank. Shona will be joined by acclaimed Fiddler Paul Anderson, Huntly's first musician in residence who will entertain en-route and provide a unique insight into the tunes and their composers.
