The artist's journey from template to print. An exhibition celebrating 30 years of printmaking.

About

The artist's journey from template to print in an exhibition celebrating 30 years of master printmaking with Jack Shirreff and the 107 Intaglio and Lithographic Workshop at two venues: Rabley Drawing Centre and 107 Workshop, Wiltshire. Meryl Ainslie, director of Rabley Drawing Centre with Jack Shirreff, is curating this exhibition. It will mark the untimely closure of the workshop this year due to Jack's failing health and is the ONLY opportunity to document and celebrate his creative achievement for artists, printmakers and the wider public before this archive is dispersed. This exhibition is of the ‘template stages and original printing plates' of the printmaking process of six selected important British artists: Craigie Aitchison, Gillian Ayres, John Bellany, Tony Fry, Howard Hodgkin, Joe Tilson and includes a new commission by Emma Stibbon. These sets of process stages include the ideas that form the basis of developments in master printmaking, including combinations of etching, lithography, carborundum and hand-colour processes. 107 Workshop by appointment only. Please contact Rabley Drawing Centre.
