A solo show of paintings by Jennifer Talbot.

About

In this series of works Jennifer combines raw paint in the form of splashes, pours and gestures with geometric pictorial illusion. By painting like this Jennifer creates a duality that activates all the surfaces of the canvas, meaning the pictorial surface formed by illusion and the real surface expressed by the materiality of the paint. The splash, pour and gesture also brings to the surface sensations of speed, gravity and direction stimulating the viewers awareness of the paint at the same time he or she is drawn in to the the illusion of the painting. Jennifer is a graduate of Central St Martins School of Art and more recently obtained an MA in fine art from City and Guilds School of Art in 2005
