The work of Daniel Diaz

Visually Concealed is a collection of Daniel Diaz's latest paintings.
The work will be exhibited at 13 The Gallery from 16th August to 4th September, 2014.

Diaz's latest paintings are a combination of accidental and deliberate forms, where self-created images run free but controlled. Consciously adopting his native colours and imagery he aims “to capture the thrill of being outdoors and the fragility and preciousness of life”.

Diaz is drawn by nature, and in his work you can find the inspiration of the more rural aspects of his place of residence since 2003, Surrey, England:

“Nature fascinates me, I am lucky to live in Surrey and contemplate its landscape everyday. Finding hidden cottages nestled in hills gently guarded by trees is quite magical to me.”

Daniel Diaz is a Cuban artist from Trinidad, who graduated in Fine Art in 1997. Winning the First Prize in the "Small Format Art” Competition of Sancti Spiritus (Cuba), the following year, gave him the confidence and the respect among well-known artists to continue his work as a freelancer in Trinidad. He has previously exhibited his work in Cuba, Finland, Spain and England.
