The Site Festival 2014 will be opening with an exhibition of new work by John Wood and Paul Harrison in the Brunel Goods Shed in Stroud.

This show will include 7 new video works linked by a sense of foreboding and violence, undercut by a lack of spectacle and drama.

A driverless car rolls slowly downhill towards a lake; A series of car bombs explode in an out of town car park; A forest fire burns; A chair in a grey office suddenly rotates in mid air; An
unlucky man is assassinated 13 times; an even more unlucky man falls from a ladder 100 times.

Much of the work takes, as a starting point, a generic cinematic moment. This moment is then extended through repetition or super slow motion to become the entirety of the work. It is no longer just a part of the plot. It is the plot.

The show will also include over 50 small drawings and 5 large-scale drawings which will be exhibited at SVA 4 John Street, Stroud GL5 2HA
