Sarah Ryder* (b. 1978, Wales) lives and works in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. Informed by concepts of multidimensionality and impermanence, her process is playful and experimental, making works that hover between painting and sculpture. She gained an MFA Painting, Slade School of Fine Art, London, 2008, and a BA in Fine Art Painting at the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside, 2000. Solo shows include Feet. Brain. Back Again. Galeri Caernarfon, 2022; You Never Fail Until You Stop Trying, York College Gallery, 2014. Group exhibitions include Exeter Contemporary Open, Exeter Phoenix, Devon; Yellow Archangel Perceiving Anomalies, General Practice, Lincoln, 2021; ArtHouses, Whitley Bay, 2019; Stop Frame: BROADCAST! Wirksworth Festival, 2014; , PEER, London, 2013. Long-listed for the Contemporary British Painting Prize 2022, and recipient of the overall award for Exeter Contemporary Open 2022. *Exhibited as Sarah Bowker-Jones until 2020
