Over 25 years, Ansett’s artistic worldview has been shaped by a dislocated social biography as an adopted child of the 1960’s. This background and the lack of knowledge of any aspects of his genetic and biological identity has inspired a relentless ongoing artistic enquiry into a sense of place through his work as a portrait photographer. His style of work as an outside observer has been shaped from his earliest foundations and has broadened into a practice that explores the very frames of reference through which we all view society.
