Laura Parker is a self-taught artist and painter based in the London area. Laura is inspired by the natural world - from dramatic underwater views, to expansive landscapes. Water in particular (above it, below it, and reflections in it), are a constant inspiration and stimulus to her work. Laura works predominantly in acrylics, while also exploring the use of other materials. Currently Laura is creating multi-layered mixed-media abstract artworks, often working on a series of panels simultaneously. Her love of colour adds drama, and brings energy and vitality to her artworks. Laura is a member of ArtCan and Richmond Art Society. She is represented by BobCat Gallery in London. Laura exhibits regularly. In 2023 she has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the Winter Show at Orleans House Gallery, ‘Pushing Paper’ and ‘100x100’ with BobCat Gallery, and Richmond Art Society’s Summer Exhibition at Landmark Arts Centre (coinciding with Luke Jerram’s ‘Gaia’). In July 2023 Laura is participating in Arts Richmond’s Open Studios, welcoming and talking to visitors about her art practice over two weekends. Laura’s work has been published in Art Seen Magazine, while Diver Magazine and Collect Art’s Special Edition ‘Sea in Me’ featured her art practice and underwater paintings. Two of Laura’s works were short-listed for the prestigious Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize 2022.
