Lighthouse is a leading arts charity in Brighton focusing on talent development and social impact. The organisation focuses on connecting new developments in art, society, science, technology and digital culture, and for over 30 years has provided an accessible programme of exhibitions, performances, live events, talks, commissions and education initiatives. Lighthouse specialises in talent development and social impact within local, national and international communities. Lighthouse has worked with many interdisciplinary artists including Larry Achiampong, David Blandy, Blast Theory, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, Holly Herndon, Metahaven, Haroon Mirza, The Otolith Group, and filmmakers Danny Boyle, Kenneth Branagh, Barbara Broccoli, and Abi Morgan. Over the decades, our programme has revealed new ways of presenting artists and the creative industries, how artistic work and practice can cross boundaries and disciplines, and be used as a way of enhancing digital technology and its place within society. • Our project Guiding Lights is the UK film industry’s leading mentoring programme with mentors including Danny Boyle, Kenneth Branagth, Sam Mendes and Clio Barnard. • Our education initiative, Viral, supports young creatives specialising in music, video and photography, offering production training, business development, showcasing opportunities, peer-to-peer support and mentoring from industry professionals. • Lighthouse is the UK partner for Re-Imagine Europe, a four-year collaboration funded by Creative Europe that joins ten cultural organisations with artists and audiences across nine European countries.
