Krishna Shanthi (b. Pooneryn, Sri Lanka, 1988) Lives and works in London, UK Krishna Shanthi is a queer visual artist, graphic designer and curator of Tamil-Canadian identity. He uses graphic design, images, research and criticism to visually communicate ideas of everyday human experience (in and out of linear perspective) and/for cultural sustainability. In his practice, he creates representation of hybrid identities through mixing concepts and materials relating to Hindu epics and myths, comic-book superheroes and Disney princesses; images and text intertwine to narrate a collection of diverse cultural references. Krishna Shanthi is currently obsessed with blue and the ideas of remembering and forgetting relating to queerness and his learned understanding of identity/culture.
