About

Kathryn Hart is a multi-disciplinary artist who lives and works in Colorado. Her creations bridge the genres of sculpture, installation, painting and assemblage. A career in medical market research and consulting for organ and tissue transplantation nonprofits entrenched her in an atmosphere of life, death, hope, new starts, and connectivity. In 2002, Hart’s drive to communicate beyond words retook the front seat and she continued her multi-tiered perspective artistically. Her creations are rooted in personal history and delve deep into the issues of identity, gender, and the circumstances of ‘rising from the ashes.’

An international award-winning artist, Hart has established a continued presence in New York City and Europe and most recently, Los Angeles. Her artwork has been the subject of numerous museum, solo and group exhibitions. Recent appearances include New York (NYC, Brooklyn, Beacon, SUNY Orange), CA (LA, Oceanside MOA), France (Paris, Aix-en-Provence, Honfleur), Poland (Warsaw, Ostrow, Goluchow, Myslenice), Madrid, Copenhagen, London, Zurich and Italy (Florence, Ferrara, Bologna). Most recent museum appearances include Ateneo de Madrid, Cultural Center Antigua Hospital Sant Marc (Valencia), Howland Cultural Center (NY), IDEA Space (Colorado College), Forum Synagoga (Poland), Zamek w Goluchowie, (Poland), Myslenice Cultural Center and Museum (Poland), Museo de Castello de Estense (Italy), The Mitchell Museum (MD), Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts (Las Vegas), the Chelsea Art Museum (NYC) and the Colorado History Museum. Hart is the recipient of many international prizes and scholarships, such as the United Nations Harmony for Peace Award (NYC, 2010). Scholarships include the Council of Europe (2016), and the Ministries of Art and Culture of France and Poland (2015, 2014). Hart has been honored by the United Nations as an invited juror. ArtSlant (NYC) has named her “Showcase Winner” twenty-two times since 2011.

Her artwork is in the public collections of the Ministry of Culture of France, the Ministry of Culture of Poland, the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Arts, the Myslenice Cultural Center (Poland), and many private collections worldwide. Her work is archived in the National Museum for Women in the Arts, (Washington DC) and the Miriam Shapiro Archives on Women Artists (Rutgers University).

Public television aired a segment on Hart and her artwork in January 2017 as part of the “DenverCreates” series (S1, E2). https://youtu.be/2r8L2Le1D4A
