KARST is a contemporary art venue in Plymouth, which comprises a free public gallery and artists’ studios. The gallery is dedicated to showcasing current and experimental visual art, through an international exhibition programme. KARST is an artist-led initiative with charitable status which focuses on working in partnership with cultural organisations, artist groups and creative individuals. Founded in 2012, its aim is to contribute significantly towards cultural growth in Plymouth, and to generate a positive influence within the South West and the wider region.

KARST has commissioned and exhibited works with support from Plymouth City Council, Arts Council England, the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation, OCA: Office for Contemporary Art Norway, the Danish Arts Council, the Swedish Embassy, Czech Centre and the Acción Cultural Española among others.
